🚨 Amazon’s SPP Requirement Update: What It Means for Your Team & VAs
If you’re an Amazon seller or agency working with a team—whether in-house or virtual—there’s a major policy shift you need to be aware of.
🔐 Amazon Now Requires SPP Registration for Secondary Users
In a recent email update, Amazon announced that any individual accessing Seller Central—including employees, virtual assistants, freelancers, and third-party agencies—must now be registered in the Amazon Solution Provider Network (SPP).
This includes:
Admins and team members with sub-user access
Virtual assistants working remotely
Agencies and prep centers with logins to manage client accounts
⏳ What’s the Deadline?
The original rollout began on April 10, 2025, with enforcement intended to start shortly after. However, due to confusion and the widespread impact, Amazon has extended the enforcement deadline to August 31, 2025.
This gives sellers a little more time to adjust and ensure their users are compliant—but don’t wait until the last minute. If your team members aren’t registered, they may be locked out of your account.
✅ What You Should Do Now
Here’s a quick checklist to stay compliant:
1.Review all active users in your Seller Central account.
2.Identify any employees, VAs, or partners who access your account.
3.Direct them to apply or register through the Amazon SPP Portal.
4.Keep records of who is approved and track their registration status.
If you’re an agency or prep center offering services to Amazon sellers, you also need to be listed and approved on SPP to continue serving clients inside Seller Central.
🤔 Why This Matters
Amazon is clearly tightening access and compliance across its ecosystem. This move aims to improve security, reduce fraud, and formalize partnerships—but it also adds an extra layer of work for sellers relying on external support.
